Caitlin Q&A

Personal Journey & Background

  • How did you get started in bartending? How did you find your way to Rosko’s Brew House?

    • So I work full time for Williamsport School District and wanted a side job for some extra cash. I had been following Adam’s instagram page for remodeling the building. When he posted that he was looking for bartenders, I responded. The hours overlapped really well for my life and schedule: Thursday, Friday, Saturday from 4 to 9 [editors note: we are now open til 10]. Not too late but enough to make some money. I was excited to start something new and different.

  • What’s been your favorite moment or memory working here so far?

    • Anniversary party every year is a blast. It’s cool that we get to celebrate another year of being open. Everyone always has so much fun, and it brings together all of our staff and regulars for a good time.

    • I also really like the nights where you have people stick around. Just the everyday conversations that you get to have with people at the bar. When I first met one of our regulars, Sadman, he walked right in when we opened. We started a conversation about everything in the entire world and talked for 4 hours. Other places and bars in town don’t allow you to have long conversations with bartenders and really get to know them.

Beer Knowledge & Preferences

  • What’s your go-to beer style and why?

    • I like pale ales. I think that they are very drinkable but have pizazz that makes it fun.

  • What’s your favorite Rosko’s beer of all time?

    • Obviously Sully because it is named after my dog, and it is my favorite style of beer.

    • Besides Sully, if I had to choose, it would be “Una Mas” or “Endless Buckets.” Which is interesting because neither of them are pale ales. What's cool about Rosko’s is that you drink styles that aren’t your favorite but become one of your top beers.

  • What’s one beer myth you wish people would stop believing?

    • All beer tastes the same to them / they don’t like beer

    • We offer such a variety of types and styles. If you don’t like the standard that is in all of the domestic brews, we have something for everyone to get into. You can become someone who enjoys craft drinks at Rosko’s just because of the different beers we offer.

Editor's Note: Yes, Caitlin knows how to pour a proper beer, lol

About Rosko’s & the Local Scene

  • How would you describe the Rosko’s vibe to someone who’s never been?

    • It’s very homey. When you're here, you're family, but it's better because it’s not Olive Garden [laughs]. Truthfully, Rosko’s is a place where it is easy to connect with people. Adam wanted a place where people can connect over beer, and he really accomplished that. I have hung out with people outside of Rosko’s that I met here, and now, we are friends. Even our regulars come back, and they want to come back because they love the personal connections they have made with our staff. We are different because we are able to make a personal connection with customers.

Stop into Rosko's and you may even meet a celebrity, Caitlin's dog Sully! Cheers
