On Friday, November 28th, we held our 3rd Annual Rosko's Black Friday 1K, benefitting Family Promise of Lycoming County. A staple Rosko's event, it humbles us every year to see how many people come out and support this event. The "race" is not as grueling as it sounds. A ~0.65 mile walk/run, the best part is that we get to walk around the block with our beers!
However, the race itself plays second fiddle to the reason we actually gather. Our tagline printed on every shirt sums it up appropriately, "I'm Just Here for the Beer." This is a community gathering. It is a time and place to get together with friends and family the day after Thanksgiving and enjoy each other's company at the cool local pub that Rosko's has become. A family-friendly event, we've played host from newborns to 90-year-olds each year.

It's a worthy bonus that the proceeds have gone to Family Promise of Lycoming County, an organization that feeds, clothes, and shelters families in Lycoming County. On a day of consumerism right on the heels of a day of giving thanks, to support a local charity in need is icing on the cake, the filling in the turkey, the butter on the biscuit... it just feels great!
Huge shoutout to Zac Baggett for MC'ing the event, John Ryan Brewery for setting up its food stand, and all the sponsors who supported the event & charity:

We gave away prizes to the Fastest Runner, Slowest Runner, and Best Costume. We also held the 2nd annual Sixth Street Sprint featuring two divisions: <12 years old and adults. It's always a good time to see who comes out on top in the adult division, and it's super cute to see the kids racing each other.
Until next year, thank you again! And We Need More Cowbell!
Rosko's Forever.
